The King Cetshwayo monument honors Cetshwayo kaMpande, the last independent king of the Zulu Kingdom, renowned for leading the Zulu forces during the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879. It commemorates the spot where King Cetshwayo boarded the ship after his capture and exiled to London.
