Airlink is pleased to announce an upgrade to a larger aircraft, transitioning from the J41 (25-seater) to the E170 (75-seater). This move aims to accommodate the increasing demand for both passenger and cargo services at Richards Bay Airport.
Since the reopening of Richards Bay Airport in September 2022, the passenger count has soared from 849 to over 1500 per month. The growing demand necessitates this upgrade as the current fleet operates at full capacity.
This upgrade is not only a milestone for Airlink but also crucial for the airport and the community of uMhlathuze. With the increased seating capacity, there will be more opportunities for travel and enhanced cargo movement.
